William E. "Bill" Sumstine, 93, passed away June 1, 2018. He was born Dec. 13, 1924. He married Rose Marie Higgins in 1950. She died in 1951. He remarried Marie Milum in 1966 who passed away in 1996. Then married Betty Gonzales in 2002. He was a World War II (Normandy and Battle of the Bulge) and Korean War veteran.

Survivors: his wife, Betty; daughters, Phyliss Werth, Vicki Zadina (Lanny) and Sara Born; daughters-in-law, Nancy and Lina; grandchildren, Stephanie Werner (Shawn), Mike Carlin (Stephanie), Jody Parks (Jason), Jessica Gassman (Tanner), Gina Graen (Joe), Jonathan Zadina (Kristina), Troy Ragnoni, Heather Lewis (Ed), Holly Crowder (Shannon), Candy Drybread and Shari Soper; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-granddaughter, Raegan Gooden.

Proceeded in death by his parents; three siblings; two wives; three sons; and one grandson.

His body was donated to KU Med Center. Memorial: noon, June 30, at the United Methodist Church, Minneapolis, followed by a potluck dinner. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
