Wanda L. Diehl, 84, Salina, formerly of Tescott, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019. She was born in Tescott on January 8, 1935 to Henry and Oda (Christensen) Christensen. Wanda was one of seven children.
On March 18, 1958 she married Darrel D. Diehl and they resided on a farm near Tescott until his death. Wanda was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for most her life where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She recently joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Minneapolis chapter of TOPS. For 45 years, she was cooperative weather observer. She reported precipitation amounts for the Tescott area to the National Weather Service.
Wanda loved gardening and canning the produce that she grew. She also loved cooking and her family and friends especially enjoyed her orange rolls and homemade noodles.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Marius Diehl; and son, Mike Willis.
Survivors include her sons, Gail St. Clair (Judy) of Salina, Randy Willis (Carolyn) of Riverview, FL, and Kevin Diehl of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Alice Kennedy (Eric), Candace Wilson (Michael), Brandon St. Clair, Kurtis Willis (Megan), Katie Rice (Chris), and Jacob Willis (Amy); Kevin's Goddaughters, Shakira and Shakiyah Outten; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rosalie McCune of Washington, KS, and brother, Gary Christensen of Tyler, TX;
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 5 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tescott. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Pinnacle Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
