Viola Vee Stanley, 98, Culver, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at her home that she's lived in since the age of three.
She was born August 26, 1915, to Edna Mae Gray and she was raised by her grandparents, Frank and Sarah Gray in Culver.
She graduated from Culver High School in 1934.
Viola worked as a nurse's aide at Crestview Nursing Home, cook's aide at Kenwood View, and she was the custodian for the Culver United Methodist Church for 35 years.
Viola served as the secretary of the United Methodist Women for 12 years; the Culver Senior Center for 19 years, and the Ottawa County Council on Aging for six years.
Viola was preceded in death by her grandparents; mother; step-father Carl Baker; brother Pete Baker; sister Maxine Breneman; and her husband Louis Stanley in 1964.
Survivors include her two sons Larry Arnold and wife Frances of Salina and Richard Stanley and his wife Janet of Holton; daughter Carol Murphy and husband Jim of Culver; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Marjorie Bradley and her husband Wiley of Wells; numerous step-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 8 at the Culver Union Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
