Verlin Winferd Goff, the son of Winferd and Ruby (Cullum) Goff, was born July 22, 1932 on a farm in Graham County, Kansas. He passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at his rural Minneapolis home, at the age of 77 years.
He served in the United States Air Force in Korea, and made his home in Arvada, Colorado. On February 9, 1957 he was united in marriage to Yolanda Carol Ghilarducci at St. Anne's Church in Arvada.
Verlin worked as an over-the-road truck driver, as a pump mechanic for Eaton Metal service and went into business with his family prior to moving to Minneapolis, Kansas in 1970. He was a power plant operator for the City of Minneapolis for 20 years. His wife preceded him in death August 23, 2005.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Minneapolis and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was active in Boy Scouts and was a former Scoutmaster.
Verlin was preceded in death by his parents, Winferd "Shorty" and Ruby Goff; his wife Yolanda Goff; brother in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Carol Ghilarducci; and brother-in-law Jack Fulkerson.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Goff and his wife Alisa and David Goff; and his daughters, Marie Ballou and her husband Marvin and Ilene Mullen and her husband Joseph, all of Minneapolis; a brother Lyle Goff and his wife Helen of Westminster, Colorado; a sister Deloris Fulkerson of Leyden, Colorado; his sister-in-law Rose Ann Soucie of Montrose, Colorado; his grandchildren Nolan & April Goff, Savannah Goff, Olivia Goff, Megan Ballou, Jada Ballou, Tanner Ballou, Cameron Mullen, Joshua Mullen, and Shelby Mullen and his great-grandchildren Nora Friberg, Ruby Goff, and Brinson Goff.
The family suggests memorials to the church.
