Trudy J. Carter Cobbs Pickrell, 80, of Minneapolis, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Minneapolis.
Trudy was born on February 20, 1945, in California to William F. and Jean (Krueger) Carter. She graduated from Blue Mound High School in Blue Mound, Kansas, in 1963. On July 29, 1973, she married David E. Pickrell. Trudy dedicated many years to her work as a cook and Certified Medical Aide, making a difference in the lives of those she served.
A woman of faith, Trudy had a deep love for Jesus. She found great joy in caring for her animals and nurturing her flowers, reflecting her kind and gentle spirit. Known for her straightforward personality, she was admired for her honesty and dedication to those she loved.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David, on December 20, 1991; her daughter-in-law, Deann Cobbs; and her siblings, Shirley, Bill, John, Bonnie, Mary, and Frances.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Cobbs, Matthew Pickrell (Brooke), and Monti Pickrell (Leann); her siblings, Craig, Carolyn, and Nancy; and her four grandchildren, who brought her much joy.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 23, at Community Bible Church in Minneapolis, with Pastor Todd Burrow officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Wheel Senior Center and left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
Trudy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of animals and flowers, and her devotion to her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
