Trace Alan Kriegh, 72, of Minneapolis, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026.

He was born on October 10, 1953, in Salina, Kansas, the second son of Roy “Jr.” and Germaine (Peterson) Kriegh.

Trace graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1971 and subsequently attended Hutchinson Community College and Emporia State University.

Trace worked for El Dorado Company for several years. Then, for many years, he worked in the family business of Kriegh Pontiac for his grandfather Roy and his father Roy Jr. Following the death of his grandfather and the retirement of his father, Trace worked for other car companies in the area.

Trace and Jeri Van Meter were married on November 11, 1978, at the Antioch Baptist Church in Ada.

Trace was a lifelong resident of Minneapolis, a member of the Noon Lions Club, and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. He enjoyed music, cars, the Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Trace was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eric.

Survivors include his wife, Jeri Van Meter; brother, Kelly (Mary Ellen) Kriegh; brother-in-law, Russ (Jana) Van Meter; several nieces and nephews: Andrew, Christopher, and Alexis Kriegh; Angela (Dave) Oppenheim; Stephanie (Rick) Teasley; Ben (Kasindra) Van Meter; Josh (Amanda) Van Meter; and Jessica Picolet; Aiden and Ada Oppenheim; Kaylee and Johnna Picolet; and Samantha and Jonathan Van Meter; as well as numerous cousins and friends. He is also survived by his daily companion, Major.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 3, at the Ron Seyfert Meeting Room in the Central Kansas Extension District Office, 315 W. Third Street, Minneapolis.
