Tom Schur, 78, Minneapolis, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at his home. He was born John Thomas Schur on February 27, 1945, in Salina, to John L. and Marnece L. (Crawford) Schur.

Tom was a 1963 graduate of Minneapolis High School and he then attended Hutchinson Community College. He and Patricia A. Urban were married on February 19, 1966.  Tom then attended Emporia State University before serving in United States Army. He served in Vietnam from 1968-69.  Upon returning home, Tom returned to Emporia State and graduated with his bachelor's degree in business.

Tom worked for ElDorado in Minneapolis for 22 years and in customer service at G.L. Huyett for 17.5 years.

He was a member of V.F.W. Post #3201.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are wife, Pat; sons, Chris Schur and his wife, Tammy, and Jason Schur and his wife, Alicia; brother, Ted Schur and his wife, Corky; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, August 15, at 3:00 P.M. at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 16, at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to V.F.W. Post #3201 and be left in care of the funeral home.
