Sharon L. Kimmel, 64, Minneapolis passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2009 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.
Sharon was born August 10, 1945 in Highland, Kansas to O.H. "Mike" and Helen Elaine (Jenkins) Stone. She was united in marriage with William Kimmel on February 9, 1968 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Sharon was the owner and operator of the Lyons Den in downtown Minneapolis. She was a member of the Minneapolis Evening Lions Club and she also served as a zone chairman. Sharon was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women (local and district) Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce and Chamberettes, and she was very active with the Kansas Republican Party.
Sharon is survived by her husband William "Bill" Kimmel of the home; her daughters Cherene Fisher and her husband Jay of Wichita and Alyssa Kimmel of Topeka; her mother Elaine Stone of Minneapolis; her brother Daryl Stone and his wife Leah of Minneapolis; and her two granddaughters Jessica and Julianne Fisher of Wichita.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father.
Memorial services will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Monday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Love INC.
