Sara L Olmsted - November 5, 1952 – December 26, 2023

Sara was born to Joseph and Joan (Trimble) Potucek in Sumner Co, KS. She left this world at her home in rural Delphos, KS on December 26, 2023.

Sara was raised near Oxford, KS with her six siblings. In July 1971 Sara married Galen Crum. They had one daughter together Jennifer Cleveland who they raised in Salina KS.

Sara married Rock Olmsted in Sept 1999 and they made their home in rural Delphos. Sara spent most of her working life assisting adults with disabilities in a variety of roles from secretarial to case management and guardianship. She had recently retired from Choices Network in Salina.

Sara was a lifelong horsewoman. She bred, raised, trained, showed, and sold Appaloosa and Quarter horses. Her horses won many local, state, and national awards. To this day her herd of Appaloosas can be traced back to her childhood horses Shadow (where the farm name Shadow Downs comes from) and Stormy's Baby Doll.

Sara was an avid volunteer and spent her time supporting the 4-H horse program, American Red Cross instructor, started a therapeutic horse-riding program for children with disabilities, and most recently served on the board the Crossroads RC&D.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles "Chip" Potucek.

She is survived by her husband, Rock of the home; daughter, Jennifer (Donnie) Cleveland of Minneapolis; stepchildren, Dallas (Ashlee) Olmsted, and Jill Olmsted; and siblings, Anna (Lick) Russell, Mike Potucek, Jane (David) Hamilton, Jim (Kaydee) Potucek, David (Lola) Potucek, and JoDee (Chris) Jones. She loved spoiling her 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, December 29 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 30 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Minneapolis. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Delphos Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa County 4-H Foundation, the Minneapolis Public Library or a charity of your choice and be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.
