Ruth A. Rush, 96, Lincoln, Nebraska, died Thursday, January 1, 2009 in Lincoln. She was born June 9, 1912 in Marquette, Kansas to Albin and Anna (Nielson) Sundquist.
Ruth was united in marriage with Nelson "Bill" G. Rush on July 24, 1933; he preceded her in death on August 16, 1999. They made their home in Tescott and Minneapolis. After Bill's death, Ruth made her home in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was a homemaker.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Virginia Mae; grandson, Ronald Temple; and great-grandson, Jeremy Rush.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth L. Rush of Gypsum, Kansas and Leland L. Rush of Salina, Kansas; her daughters, Wanda E. Temple of Lincoln, Nebraska and Beverly J. Rutkoskie of The Villages, Florida; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis with the Rev. Helen Martin officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tabitha House (Greenhouse) and may be left in care of the funeral home.
