Ruth Abbago Lopez's Obituary
Ruth Abbago Lopez, 85, Salina, passed away peacefully April 5, 2018, at home surrounded by family. Ruth was born November 20, 1932, in Vigan Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Esther and Francisco Abbago.
Ruth and her large family moved to Salina from Manila in 1971. She was a dedicated Unit Secretary at SRHC for 31yrs. She loved telling stories to her family with her husband, making jokes, and attending the Smoky Hill River Festival.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings.
Surviving family includes her husband of 64 years, Emiliano; children, Emilie Lopez Hudson, Overland Park; Romeo Lopez, Independence, MO; Emiliano (Larry) Lopez, Salina; Juliet Lopez, Glendale, CA; Alicia Lopez Westerlage, Dickinson, TX; Loida Lopez Ruth, Plainfield, IL; Danny Lopez, Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Tiffany Lopez Lee, Alex Hudson, Leandra Gabrielson, Shawna Bernath, Anthony Lopez, Anna Lopez, Hannah Westerlage, Laura Westerlage, Kelli Westerlage, Peyton Ruth, Madison Ruth; 5 great grandchildren; and five siblings.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., Sunday, April 8, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis where a prayer vigil and rosary will be held at 7:00. Graveside services to celebrate Ruthie's life will be at 1pm Monday, April 9, at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery, Salina. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Kindred Hospice of McPherson or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
