Obituary

Rodney Eugene French was born October 8, 1941 in Minneapolis, Kansas, the son of Forrest and Edith (Weis) French. He passed away September 5, 2008, at his home southeast of Minneapolis at the age of 66 years and 30 days.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie in 1989; his father in 1990; and his mother in 2003.
He was employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation and retired in June 2003 following 32 years of service.
Survivors include one brother Melvin D. and wife Alice of Granger, TX; two sisters, Rosalie F. Conner and husband Carl of Switz City, IN and Cathy S. Hogan and husband Doug of Minneapolis; two half-brothers, Wardith D. and wife Helen of Olympia, WA, and Richard D. and wife Betty of Notus, ID; nephews Derek Whitesell of Salina, KS and
Ryan French; nieces, Delaina List and husband Jeff of Salina, KS, Mellinda French Bartosh and husband Robert of Georgetown, TX, and Carmeleta French Donahue and husband Brian of Georgetown, TX, Carla Hodges and husband Russ of Amery, MS, and Christene Koontz and husband Jeff of Bloomfield, IN, and many great nieces and great nephews.
Memorial services will be at 2 P.M., Saturday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis with the Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery. The body was cremated. Friends may sign the register book from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Rodney French Memorial Fund which will be designated later.
