Robert Ernest “Bob” Watson, the son of Ernest Louis “Ernie” and Maude Mae “Billie” Watson, was born May 30, 1938 in Minneapolis Kansas.

He was a 1956 graduate of Minneapolis High School and attended electronics school in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the home of his daughter in Minneapolis, having reached the age of 88 years. Until the age of 87, he had lived independently in Wichita Kansas.

He accepted Christ as his Savior on November 2, 1967, at Community Bible Church in Minneapolis. He and his High School sweetheart Sandra Lucille “Sandy” Gard raised three daughters to love the Lord as much as they did, Melanie Watson Barefield Hyde, Julie Miller, and Valerie Watson.

He operated Watson Electronics in downtown Minneapolis until moving to Wichita Kansas to work in Aviation with Cessna.

Survivors include his daughters, their spouses; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Janette Lott.

He was preceded in death by Sandy in 2010; his parents; and his sister Annette Lee in 1987.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis KS 67467. Graveside services will follow at Noon at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

The family suggest memorials to the Ottawa County Service Corporation, Carousel Project, the Community Bible Church, or a charity close to your heart and may be left in the care of Wilson Family Funeral Home.
