Robert M. Mortimer, 94, Salina, formerly of Delphos, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. He was the only child of Robert and Sophia (Stelter) Mortimer and was born in Delphos on February 18, 1920.

Bob attended Delphos schools and he attended Kansas State University for one and half years. He entered into the United States Army on February 9, 1942. Bob served during World War II for three years and eight months. Part of this time was served in the Italian theatre in 91st Division 363rd Regimental Headquarters. He was discharged October 23, 1945 and he returned to Delphos where he farmed for many years. Bob and Betty Emley were united in marriage on February 10, 1948 in Seymour, IN. To this union four children were born, Emley, Bob, Scott, and Craig. Betty passed away November 24, 1993. On September 4, 1998, he was united in marriage with Charlene (Belden) Schmidt. Bob's family was very important to him and he was an avid K-State fan. He was very proud of his grandchildren and he tried to attend as many of their events as possible.

Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Delphos.

Survivors include his wife Charlene; children Emley McGavran and her husband Tom, Bob Mortimer and his wife Carol; Scott Mortimer and his wife Bev; and Craig Mortimer and his wife Beth; step-children Lorn Schmidt, Sherry Tatro, and Stanley Schmidt; nine grandchildren Jennifer Maass, Lisa Barge, Amy Garman, Erin Spreer, Jeff, Ryan, and David Mortimer, and Mackenzie and Gage Mortimer; nine step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 23, at the First Presbyterian Church, Delphos with Pastor Michele McHenry officiating. Burial will be in the Delphos Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Delphos.
