Obituary

Richard A. Sidener, 89, Minneapolis, died Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. Dick was born August 29, 1935, in Ada to Leo E. and Ruth W. (Yeutter) Sidener.

He attended school in Ada and was a 1953 graduate of Ada High School. In 1959, he graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Dick served in the United States Army, and he was a self-employed farmer for 50 years. Dick and Lucille K. Goetsch were united in marriage on November 13, 1971. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Minneapolis. He loved farming, being a farmer, being on his tractor and combine, and especially riding his motorcycle with Lucille.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Norma Prochaska and Dennis Sidener.

Survivors are his wife, Lucille; children, Michelle Sidener, Amy Thomas, and husband, Reuben, and Jeffrey Sidener and his wife, Angela; grandchildren, Carissa, Sophia, Paul, Joseph, Timothy, David, Rena, and Zoe; great grandson, Joseph Richard Zack Jr. (JJ); siblings, Rodney Sidener and Charlene Nichols; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 4, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 5, at the First Baptist Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Ada. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Ada Community Building and may be left in care of the funeral home.
