Obituary

Richard Dean Muller, 69, of Springfield MO, passed away on October 30, 2026. He was born on September 20, 1957, in Salina KS to Neil and Wanda (Abrams) Muller.

He was preceded in death by his parents Neil and Wanda Muller and his grandparents Walter and Olive Abrams and Charles and Avis Muller.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer, his children Walton (Ella) and Bailey (Carson), and his precious grandchildren Oliver, Archer, and Opal. Rick is also survived by his brothers Steve (Deby) Muller of Salina KS and Mike (Tami) Muller of Ness City KS, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins, his special friends Dave and Cheryle Hardesty, and his “soul dogs” Butters and Daisy.

Rick always treasured his family and friends. Growing up in Minneapolis KS, he enjoyed the comradery of small-town life, playing backyard sports with friends, fishing with his family, and of course competing for bragging rights about who caught the most fish. Rick graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1975, playing football and basketball during those years, and he later earned an associate degree from Salina Technical School.

While attending school, Rick worked several jobs, working on farms, at the local gas station, and for the Hardesty family, and loading ElDorado truck campers. This led to a lifelong career in the RV business. Rick was very grateful for opportunities given to him by Bob and Elaine Stewart, Bob and Faye Hudson, and John and Juanita Hardesty working at ElDorado RV. He was later asked to join the RV Sales Dept at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield MO. Rick eventually spent over 25 years working at Reliable RV in Springfield MO. Although Rick dealt with several health challenges over the years, he was always early to work and late to leave at the end of the day.

Rick will always be remembered for his thoughtfulness, generosity and hard work. He was also prayerful and a member of the Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and pets, and on Sundays he enjoyed driving by the Springfield Lake and then sharing outdoor photos with his family.

He will be laid to rest, next to his parents, in the Highland Cemetery in Minneapolis KS. At Rick’s request, there will be no formal funeral service - just a small family memorial gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Minneapolis Public Library, in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis KS 67467.
