Richard A. "Dick" Diedrick, 80, Tescott, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Salina Regional Health Center. He was born May 17, 1934 in Tescott to Richard P. and Laura Jane (Cramton) Diedrick.
Dick was a 1951 graduate of Tescott High School and then he served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He was united in marriage with Irene V. Schmidt on November 24, 1957 in Beverly. Dick was a lifelong farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Tescott United Methodist Church and the Kansas Livestock Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Irene on March 17, 2006 and his son Chris on May 2, 2011.
Survivors include his children Mary Beth Hardy of Littleton, CO and Shari Diedrick of Tescott; sister Delores Bachofer and her husband Bob of Salina; grandchildren Amber Anderson and her husband Keith, Sean Hardy, Braydan Ash, and Cassidy Peters; great-grandchildren Bella Hardy and Ryker Anderson; special great-niece Stacey Bruton; and his beloved dog Rex.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday July 25 at the Tescott High School Gymnasium. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Wilson Family Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Chris Diedrick Memorial Fund or the Holiday Resort Physical Therapy Department and may be left in care of the Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O.
