Obituary

Patricia Faye (Hamil) Miller, 94, Delphos, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Salina.  She was born August 1, 1931, in Republic County to Lester and Ethel (Hutchinson) Hamil.

She was a graduate of Concordia High School.  Patricia was employed by Pawnee Mental Health Center in Concordia for 20 years.  She loved being of service and a help to others. Later in life, she was reunited with her high school sweetheart, Eldean Miller of New Baden, IL where she lived some of the happiest years of her life.

She is survived by her two sons, Don and John Rogge of Ottawa County, KS; grandchildren, Jeni Redetzke, Kally Rogge, and Nathan Rogge; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were many family members including grandson, Travis Kessler.

Private graveside services will be in the Belleville Cemetery.

It was the summer she turned eighteen

She met a boy whose name was Eldean

(Cutest thing she'd ever seen)

She thought they would be together forever

That he would leave her never

Then one day he went away

He said that he would be back someday

Time went by

She thought with a sigh

I must go on with my life

And she became another man's wife

The oh! What joy

A baby boy

And then another

She was a proud, happy mother

Year later what glee

Grandchildren, one, two, and three

But once more she was alone

Then one night a voice on the phone

Said, "Hey, I'm home"

Followed by pink sweetheart roses

And the note discloses

"With love 40 years late"

Darn, that was a long time to wait!

This story has a happy ending

With old broken hearts mending

She married that boy named Eldean

The nicest man she's ever seen
