Norma J. Goure Henry, 86, Cabot, Arkansas (formerly of Minneapolis, KS) died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Cabot. Norma was born June 10, 1923 in Minneapolis, Kansas to William W. and Gertrude M. (Hoffman) Postlethwaite. Norma served in the United States Navy Waves during World War II. She worked for Westclox in LaSalle, IL, Minneapolis Bakery, and she was a C.M.A. at the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center.
Norma was a member of the United Church of Bennington, United Church Women, V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 3201, Bennington Senior Center; and she was a charter member of the Women's Memorial Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin H. Goure, Alvah Elliott, and Chester Henry; her sons, Ronald and Jerry Goure; her brothers, Neal, Carl, and Frank Postlethwaite; her sisters, Pearl Steepleton and Mae Oelke and a grandchild.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Linda Reichenbach and her husband Jerry of Jacksonville, Arkansas; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis with the Rev. Warren Cico officiating. Entombment will be in the Bennington Mausoleum with military honors by United States Navy personnel. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to V.F.W. Auxiliary or the church.
