Mildred Moorman passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 11, 2017, in Albuquerque, N.M. Mildred was born in Minneapolis, KS, on June 8, 1925, to the late Clifford and Edna (Hahn) Morris of Lindsey, KS.

She lived in the family home in the Lindsey community until attending Kansas State University where she met her husband, Bill Moorman of Nickerson, KS. After earning her degree in home economics, the couple married on November 1, 1948. They raised their children, David and Jane in Nickerson until 1965 when the family moved to Columbia, MO.

Their life journey took them to many places, visiting every state in the union and living in Dallas, Texas; St. Joseph, MO; Columbus, MS; and Fredericksburg, VA, before Bill's death in 2000. After his death, Mildred moved to Albuquerque, NM, for the last 17 years of her life.

Wherever they lived, Mildred was active in the United Methodist Church and the land-grant university's county Cooperative Extension Service Homemakers Club. She attended several national Homemakers Club conferences. She loved gardening and sewing.

The couple were world travelers visiting 54 countries, many several times. During their travels, Mildred collected nativity sets from each of the countries. Her collection included more than 200 creshes.

Mildred was an avid reader and served on the Nickerson Library Council for many years. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star, including serving as Grand Matron for her chapter in Nickerson.

Her parents, and sister, Margaret Fleming of Minneapolis, proceeded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Rev. David Moorman and wife, Sheri, of Burlington, CO; daughter Jane Moorman of Albuquerque; grandson, Matthew Moorman of Burlington, CO, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. Followed by interment at the Highland Cemetery. Viewing will be prior to the service.
