Mildred L. Kissick, 95, Minneapolis, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.
Mildred was born May 25, 1913 in Lincoln County, Kansas to Archie and Myrtle (Thews) Michels. Upon graduating from high school, Mildred taught for three years. On January 3, 1934 she was united in marriage to Myrvin Kissick in Stillwell, Oklahoma. To this union, three daughters were born, Marcy, Glenda, and Karen.
Mildred was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tescott, Kansas, Ada E.H.U., and she played in the Minneapolis Ladies' Pitch Marathon. In addition to homemaking, Mildred was a saleslady for Avon and also did cake decorating.
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 14, 1997; her daughter, Marcy Gebhart on July 31, 2007; and her brother, Keith Michels.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Glenda Peterson and her husband Don of Wamego, Kansas and Karen Baehr and her husband Ralph of Seneca, South Carolina; her son-in-law, Bob Gebhart of Kansas City, Kansas; her grandchildren, Mike Gebhart, Sherry McKinley, Terry Kubicki, Randy Peterson, Monty Peterson, Chelle James, and Tiffani Thomas; step-grandchildren, Joe Peterson and Anne Bronstein; and 20 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Tescott. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
