Melvin E. Stanley, 75, Minneapolis, Kansas, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010.
Melvin was born February 26, 1935 in Culver, Kansas to John and Wilma (Gray) Stanley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Jerry and Richard; and two sisters Estella and Peggy. Melvin is survived by his brothers Ed and his wife Christel of Milford, Harry and his wife Virginia of Minneapolis, and Russell and his wife Kim of Beverly; his sisters Joyce Davis and her husband Bill Bell and Ruth Copple and her husband Gary all of Minneapolis; numerous nieces and nephews; and his Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis family who has been caring for him since 1986.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Culver Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis or Hospice Care of Kansas and may be left in care of the funeral home.
