Maxine (Parks) McKain, 78, of Delphos, KS passed away on February 8, 2018 in Sacramento, CA while visiting family over the holidays.
In March of 1992, she received a double lung transplant at University Presbyterian Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA making her one of the longest and eldest surviving recipients of a double lung transplant. She made the most of her additional years of life as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Duane McKain of Minneapolis, son Randy (Mishele) McKain of Bemidji, MN, daughter Renee (Geoffrey) Peterson of Milford, KS, grandchildren; Joshua McKain, Bethany (Richard) Anderson, Corban McKain, Amber, Brooke, & Roman Peterson, and great-grandchildren; Layney, Sadie, & Ezra Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 7 at Wilson Funeral Home in Minneapolis, KS with a graveside service at the Delphos Cemetery immediately following. A lunch and time to visit will follow the service at the Elk Horn Apartments in Minneapolis.
