Maxine Marie Behrendt, 90, Minneapolis, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. She was born January 18, 1925 in Delphos to Clarence L. and Helen Marie (Clark) Parker.
She was a 1943 graduate of Minneapolis High School. Maxine was united in marriage with Robert "Bob" Otto Behrendt on April 9, 1944. They lived in Minneapolis. She helped Bob with the farming. In 1953, they managed the Minneapolis Hatchery until 1962. Later in 1962 Maxine went to work for the Ottawa County Bank and later the United Bank for a total of 21 years.
She enjoyed being a member of the Chamberettes, the Just A Mere Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Presbyterian Women. Maxine also enjoyed sewing and playing cards. Maxine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, Trustee, and Elder.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bob on April 1, 2013.
Survivors include her children James Max Behrendt and his wife Gloria and Karalee Austin and her husband Tom all of Minneapolis; sister Evelyn Atwell of Minneapolis; brother Leland Parker and his wife Shirley of Auburn, IN; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 13 at the First Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis. The family will receive friends an hour before the service in the church library. Friends may call at the Wilson Family Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Friday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church.
