Max E. Vass, 62, Minneapolis, died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home. He was born March 6, 1954 in Salina to Rex and Marthena Vass.

Max served in the United States Navy. In 1974, he was united in marriage with Katherine Crowl of Salina. Max was a former mail carrier and he most recently was a truck driver for Swift Trucking for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Kathy; children Eric Vass, Jody Sammons, Dana Hoffman, and Cory Vass; brothers Larry and Lon; and three grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.

Family graveside services will be on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Milo Cemetery, Barnard with Pastor Michele McHenry officiating.  Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Post 3201 and may be mailed to the funeral home.
