Obituary

Mary E. Wheeler Lambert, 87, Minneapolis, Kansas, died Monday, September 8, 2008 at the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center.
Mary was born September 16, 1920 in Delphos, Kansas to Eugene and Anna (Gronewaller) McKain. She and her first husband, Dale owned and operated a newsstand in Minneapolis for several years. Following that, Mary worked at City Pharmacy for over 30 years.
Mary was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dale Wheeler and Thomas Lambert. Mary was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Lauber and her husband Bill of Salina; her foster daughter, Eunice Grant of San Juan Capistrano, California; her sisters, Alice Reid of Wichita, Kansas and Lucy Embry of Rogersville, Missouri; and her grandchildren, Amber Acheson and her husband Cory, Andy and Tommy Lauber all of Salina.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Friday at Immacuate Conception Catholic Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home where a prayer vigil and rosary will be said at 7 P.M. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
