Marvin B. Gehrke, 74, Delphos, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Andover. He was born March 11, 1944 in Concordia to Elmer and Vida (Stelter) Gehrke.
Marvin was a 1963 graduate of Delphos High School. He then attended Beloit Vo-Tech and the Kansas City Technical College. Marvin and Kathy Fleshman were united in marriage in 1965 and to this union four children were born; Yolonda, Denise, Jason, and Jeremy. In 1995, he married Mary Shoemaker and he adopted her daughter, Amanda.
Marvin was the former owner of G&G Hog and G&G Trucking. He was an avid walleye fisherman and he enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. Marvin loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Leon.
Survivors are his children, Yolonda Doris (Bruce), Denise Berndt (Brian), Jason, and Jeremy (Melanie); adopted daughter, Amanda Gehrke Thompson (Erik); sister-in-law, Violet Gehrke; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 1 at the Delphos First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or the Bohemian Hills Turkey Hunt for Veterans.
