Marnece Lynett Crawford Schur, daughter of Joseph W. And Campsy Seger Crawford, was born on a farm near Beverly, Kansas on February 18, 1911 and died December 23, 2008 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis, Kansas.
Marnece graduated from Beverly Rural High School in 1928 and attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, Kansas.
She was employed in Hutchinson, Salina and Minneapolis before her marriage to John L. Schur on May 29, 1934 at Christ Cathedral, Salina, Kansas.
Marnece was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and United Presbyterian Women; and a Past Matron and 50 year member of Minerva Chapter No. 146 O.E.S. all of Minneapolis, Kansas.
She with her husband lived on the family farm all their married life where she continued to reside until moving to the Ottawa County Health Center in 2006.
Marnece was preceded in death by her husband John on March 11, 1993, two brothers: Joe and Seger Crawford; and, four sisters: Letha Gawith, Theresa Crawford, Bonnie McDonald, and Elnora Clark.
She leaves to mourn her loss her sons John Thomas "Tom" Schur and his wife Patty and Theodore "Ted" Schur and his wife Corrine "Corky"; family friend Sally Peterson; grandchildren Chris Schur and his wife Tammy, Jason Schur and his wife Alicia, Becca Metzler and her husband J.P., and Keri Schur; and great-grandchildren Quenton and Tiffany Schur, Kirstie, Blake, and Maysen Schur, and Jeffrey and Jaxson Metzler.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis with Michele McHenry, C.L.P. officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Friends may sign the register book from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home.
