Marlin Dean (Amp) Amspacker, son of Oscar and Lena Henning Amspacker was born in Cloud County Kansas October 25, 1934.  He passed away on June 17, 2021, at the age of 86, at  Wesley Hospital, Wichita Ks.

He grew up on a farm in Cloud County Kansas. Marlin attended Welcome and Fisher Creek country schools.  Many days he would have never made it home on his bike, from Fisher Creek if Lizzy Tobald had not provided him with a cool drink and cookies!  He graduated from Glasco High School 1952. Marlin served in the US Army and was stationed in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany.

On June 3, 1962 Marlin was united in marriage to Irene Sue McKain in Delphos, Kansas. In October of that year they moved to Wichita where Marlin attended Wichita Business College.  In December, 1964 he began working as an accountant at Gates Learjet in Wichita.  He was proud to have worked for Learjet for 35 years.  He retired in 2000.

Surviving are his wife, Irene of the home, two sons, Troy Amspacker  (Lana), Larned, Ks; Tracy  Amspacker (Tammy), Wichita, Ks; seven grandchildren, Dylan Amspacker (Jasmine), Wichita; Haley Rust (Luke), Gardner; Ks;  Colton Amspacker (Annika), Wichita; Katie Amspacker,  Cody Amspacker,  Callie Amspacker,  and Kale Amspacker, all of Larned. He leaves two great grandchildren Liam, Wichita and Sophie, Gardner; sister-in-law Patricia Dowlin, Glasco, nephew Monty Dowlin, Cheney, Ks;  niece Judy Dowlin (Chris), Liberty, Mo; great-nephews Christopher, Gerad and great -niece Claire.

Marlin never lost his love of farming.  He farmed with his Dad, Oscar and helped his father-in-law, Rex McKain harvest for years. After he retired he ran a combine for Marvin Henning, who was like a brother, for almost 20 years. Before his hip replacement his boys attached a ladder to Marvin's combine so he could climb on and off of the combine.  Couldn't miss a wheat harvest!

He loved the Lord, life, and  his family and enjoyed shooting trap, hunting, fishing, playing cards and visiting.  When his boys were young , he was their little league baseball coach and scout master for many years. Later years he enjoyed traveling with Irene in their camper and spending winters in Arizona.

He was never happier than when he was watching his boys and grandchildren play sports! One special day Tracy hit a home run at McAdams Ball Park and Troy hit a home run out of Lawrence Dumont Stadium!  His biggest pride was in his family! He was their biggest fan!
