Marjorie Mae Wallace, 85, Minneapolis, died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. She was born July 18, 1926 in Minneapolis to Ray and Agnes (Gawith) Allison.

Marj was united in marriage with Dale T. "Wimp" Wallace on February 22, 1946 in Minneapolis and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1991. Marj worked various jobs throughout her lifetime. Some of those included working as a secretary for Lionel Robins, rural mail carrier, and chief operator at the telephone company. She and Wimp also owned and operated Wallace Department Store in downtown Minneapolis for many years. Marj was known for her love of modern technology; especially computers and her Ipad.

Marj was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women, and P.E.O. She was also a founding member of the Ladies of the Roundtable at Daylight Donuts in downtown Minneapolis.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Darrel Allison and her sister Wilma Fox.

Survivors include her son Scott Wallace and his wife Julie of Minneapolis; her daughter Terri Parris and her husband Gail of Gilbert, AZ; brother Robert Allison of Pittsburg; her sisters Illa Harder and Phyllis Marler both of Minneapolis; four grandchildren Joshua Parris, Jason Parris, Christopher Parris, and Don Cook; and two great-grandchildren Grant and Reed Cook.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A.M., Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Wilson Family Funeral Home where a prayer vigil and rosary will be at 4 P.M. and the family will receive friends immediately afterward. Memorial contributions may be made to Love INC and will be used for Education and School Supplies or V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #3201.
