Marjorie graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1938. She then worked for Worthington Dry Goods Store and J.C. Penney both in Minneapolis.
Marjorie and Elmo B. Miller were united in marriage on October 1, 1944 at the First Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. She was a full time homemaker and she served as the secretary of Highland Cemetery for many years. Marjorie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was the nursery Sunday school teacher for over 20 years.
She was proud that she could live in her own home and care for herself until September 2013. At that time she moved to the Logan County Manor in Oakley so she could be close to her daughter and family. Marjorie always kept herself busy with jigsaw puzzles, word searches, cross stitch, Christmas stockings, writing letters, and calling her family and many friends. She so enjoyed and loved her family.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Elmo B. Miller in 2006; son Curtis E. Miller in 1988; her brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Erma Jeanne Zuker; and brother-in-law Elwood Miller.
Survivors include her daughter Karen Peterson and husband Doug of Monument; daughter-in-law Cheryl Miller of Manhattan; grandchildren Craig Miller of Wichita, Carrie Foster and husband Chris of Lindsborg, and Shelby Hales and husband Nathan of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Curtis, and Braeden Miller, and Clayton and Collin Foster; sister-in-law Viola Miller of Wichita; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 20 at the First Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, the Highland Cemetery Fence Fund, or the Ottawa County Historical Museum.
