Obituary

Marilyn J Larson, 77, died Saturday, November 14, 2009. She was born Marilyn Jean Colvin on March 29, 1932 at Bryan, Texas. Marilyn and her husband Oscar lived and farmed west of Tescott. In addition to being a loving farm wife and mother, Marilyn was a leader for many years for the Culver Livewires 4-H club, helped with kids club at the Tescott United Methodist Church and she served on the USD 240 school board.
She is survived by her husband Howard Oscar, of Tescott, sons, Allen and wife Diane, Ralph and wife Janet, and Dean and wife, Valerie, all of Tescott; daughters Leslie Loder and husband Doug of Marquette, Betty Furney of Mission, Sue Jordan and husband Don of Salina, and Sally Morrison and husband Todd of Lenexa; nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Mike Colvin of Lawrenceburg, Indiana and a sister, Becky Wolpert of Rogersville, Missouri. She was preceeded in death by two sons, Robert Larson and Joe Bowen and two grandsons.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday at the Tescott United Methodist Church with Marilyn McClure officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services in the fellowship hall. At Marilyn's request her body was donated to the Kansas University School of Medicine. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ashby House, United Methodist Youthville, or the donor's choice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
