Maria Sanelma (Laxo) Gengler, 76, Delphos, died Monday, August 5, 2019 at her home.  She was born in Republic, MI on September 1, 1942.

Maria is survived by her son, James R. Gengler, Jr. (Stephanie) and daughter, Tia L. Fitzpatrick (James); her wonderful grandson, Nicholas; granddaughter, Genevieve Shea Gengler who is due on October 15; and sister, Shiela Glover (Lloyd).

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Axel and Vieno Laxo; and her husband, James R. Gengler, Sr.

Maria was born in Republic, MI and attended school until graduation in 1960 whereupon she entered the United States Army.  She served in the 14 ^th Army Band for ten years plus.  Maria was employed by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service until her retirement in 1996.  Her and James moved to Delphos in 2002.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 14 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salina Rescue Mission and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.
