Obituary

Margaret Fleming, 87, Minneapolis, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at her home. She was born in the same home and room on December 22, 1923 to Clifford and Edna (Hahn) Morris.

Margaret attended and graduated from the Minneapolis schools. She was also a graduate of Kansas State University. She taught school in Fairbury, NE and Wichita. Margaret and John Fleming were united in marriage on June 11, 1950 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in London, England with all of their family. John and Margaret lived in Arkansas City and Salinas, CA before moving back to Minneapolis. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Atlantean Brown Club, P.E.O., V.F.W. Auxiliary, Solomon Valley Sweethearts Club, Ottawa County Music Club, Salina Y.W.C.A. Booster, and the United Methodist Women. She also served on the Rock City Board of Directors. Margaret enjoyed raising flowers and traveling. She and John traveled in all 50 states and to 52 foreign countries.

Survivors include her husband John of the home; her children Roger Fleming and his wife Theresa, Karen Furtado and her husband Marlon, Janet Ludington and her husband Burt, and Tom Fleming; her sister Mildred Moorman; and her grandchildren Tyler and Allison Furtado, Shannon, Megan, and Erin Ludington.

Funeral services will be
at 10:00 A.M., Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Rock City.
