Larry Dale Tasker, 73, Bennington, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Salina Regional Health Center. Larry was born October 14, 1942, in Delphos, KS to Dale and Glenola (Bellows) Tasker.

Larry was a classic story-book Kansas boy. He spent much of his youth on the farm, growing up with 4-H and the county fair. Larry was an excellent athlete and on the homecoming court at Bennington High School where he graduated in 1960. After attending Kansas State University for 1 year, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon K. Fisher, on September 16, 1962.

During their early married life Larry moved his young family from Missouri to Kansas to Texas, and to Colorado before finally settling back in Bennington, KS in 1979. He and Sharon were the owners of the local grocery store, Glendale Grocery, for 10 years, in downtown Bennington.After selling the store they went into the travel business, operating a motorcoach company, Jimco Charters. They enjoyed being hosts, and traveled all over the country with groups from all over the United States. One of their favorite destinations was Branson, MO.

Larry and Sharon sold Jimco Charters in 1997, and Larry then worked a number of years in the cattle hauling industry as owner/operator of SharLar Trucking.

To say Larry was a hard working man is an understatement. He lived to work, and gave his all to everything he did. He loved cowboy boots and classic country music. He and Sharon enjoyed many activities together. They were a team, and worked much of their lives side-by-side. They made great dance partners and enjoyed many wonderful travels together.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Glenola Tasker of Bennington, and his sister, Sheryl Tasker of Topeka.

Larry leaves behind his beloved wife Sharon of the home; brother Jerry Tasker and wife Debbie of Westminster, CO; daughter Sherry Comfort and husband Jeff of Minneapolis, KS; son Russell and wife Debbie of Abilene, KS; 4 grandchildren, Brandy Olivier of Plano, TX; Brooks Olivier of Salina, KS; Matthew Sidener of Mahattan, KS; and Mark Sidener of Lawrence, KS; Numerous family members that include nieces, nephews and many special cousins, not to mention wonderful friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5-7. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bennington Cemetery. During his life time Larry received two kidney transplants, which provided many additional years. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
