Kenneth Joe Wiggins, 74, Bennington, died Monday May 2, 2011 at the Village Manor, Abilene. Joe was born December 27, 1936 in Ringwood, OK to Ira and Pearl (Sears) Wiggins. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Joe held a Master's Degree in Education Administration. Before his retirement he was principal at the Solomon Grade School. He was a member of the United Church of Bennington. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo on November 7, 2007. Joe was also preceded in death by his sister Dorothy and step-daughter Judy Dufurrena.
Survivors include his sons Mike Wiggins of Emporia and Marty Wiggins of Bennington; step-children Bill McCoy, Glenda Smith, and Jane Godshall; siblings Don, Harley, Glendine, Ramona and Robert; and four grandchildren Laura Miller, Christopher, Courtney and Mallory Wiggins; and one great grandson Jordon Miller.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday at the United Church of Bennington with the Rev. Warren Cico officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Paradise. Friends may sign the register book from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. Thursday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to the church.
