Karen Lucille Williams Iselin

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend

Karen passed away on March 6, 2024, in Salina, Kansas. She was born on February 14, 1941, in Ottawa County, Kansas to Joseph Emerie and Irene (Harris) Williams. Having grown up in the Minneapolis and Longford, Kansas communities she graduated from Longford Rural High School. Karen attended the University of Kansas, earning her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and then went on to earn a Master of Science in Home Economics-Family Studies from New Mexico State University.

In her professional life she was employed by St. Joseph Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, Wichita, KS, Southern Arizona Mental Health Center, Tucson, AZ, Imperial County Health Center, El Centro, CA, Imperial Valley Center for Exceptional Children, El Centro, CA, Iselin Associates Inc., Tempe, AZ, and Mesa Public Schools, Mesa, AZ, from where she retired.

Karen was a pilot and a member of both the Ninety-Nines and Civil Air Patrol. She enjoyed memberships in Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), Civil War Roundtable, and Westerners International.

Karen was a lifelong fan of University of Kansas basketball, she enjoyed quilting, reading, researching genealogy, and loved spending time with family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; sisters, Dorothy Williams, Lenna Moeder (Willard), and Marva Adee (Evan). She is survived by her daughter, Kail Clatterbuck (Chance); son, Max Iselin (Jody); daughter, Heather Iselin; step-son, Louis Iselin (Huong); 8 grandchildren, Shania Powell, Justin Clatterbuck, Ashley Clatterbuck, Kyle Iselin, Sean Iselin, Megan Nerad (Kenan), Rachel Miller (Paul), Joshua Iselin; and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 12 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.  Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), or Gentiva Hospice of Salina and may be left in care of the funeral home.
