Obituary

Joyce A. Watts, 72, Bennington, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Via Christi – St. Francis Hospital, Wichita. She was born April 30, 1942 in Salina to Wayne and Anna (Cornellisson) Morton.

Joyce attended school in Beverly and she was a 1960 graduate of Beverly High School. She was united in marriage with Norman D. Watts on March 18, 1960. Joyce worked at several nursing homes as an administrator including Abilene and Lincoln. She then later worked as a receptionist for Central Kansas ENT Associates in Salina.


Joyce was a member of the United Church of Bennington and the Compassionate Friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norm; daughter Kelley Watts–Goodell; brother Jim Morton; and sister Kathy Gruber.

Survivors include her son Kevin Watts and wife LuAnn; special friend Lynn Sickler; son-in-law Craig Goodell; brother Harold Morton; and two grandchildren Ashley Fuller and husband Brandon and Dylan Goodell.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 6 at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in the Bennington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
