John C. Ragland, 75, Minneapolis, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. John was born March 26, 1948, to Lee Raymond and Frances (Gardner) Ragland.

John attended school in LaRue County, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. John worked for Bennington Oil Co. Inc and Farmway Coop before retiring in 2014. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church serving as an elder and trustee. John was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 3201.

John and Sharie Zuker were united in marriage on May 6, 1977, in Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Justin Lee; and sister, Linda Sloan.

Survivors include his wife, Sharie of Minneapolis; sons, Jeremy (Nicki) Ragland of Minneapolis and Ryan Ragland of Ottawa; sisters, Shirley (Chuck) O'Neill of Knightdale, NC, Debby (Jeff) Fields of Rineyville, KY, and Angela (Bryan) Metcalf of Hodgenville, KY; grandchildren, Trustin, Traxton, and Treyeson Ragland, Jessica (Micheal) Klamm, Jeffery (Emilee) Ragland; four great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 21 at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Post 3201 or the First Presbyterian Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
