Jody Sammons, 53, Abilene, died Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Salina Regional Health Center.  She was born Josephine L. Vass on March 14, 1970, in Salina to Max and Katherine (Crowl) Vass.

She was a 1988 graduate of Minneapolis High School, and she worked various jobs as a cook.

Jody was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Kathy.

Survivors are her two sons, Jordan and Ryan Sammons; grandson, Strydr Sammons; siblings, Eric Vass and wife, Genene, Dana Hoffman and husband, Mike; and Cory Vass.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 8 at Emmanuel Church in Abilene.  Private graveside services will be in Milo Cemetery, Barnard.
