Jarvis D. O'Neill, 74, Barnard, Kansas died Monday, October 13, 2008 at the Salina Regional Health Center.
Jarvis was born January 11, 1934 in Lincoln County, Kansas to William Paul and Laura (Simonds) O'Neill. He was united in marriage with Joyce Wild on March 26, 1954 in Lincoln. He was the owner of O'Neill Auction Service and he was a farmer and stockman. Jarvis was a former member of the Barnard Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of the home; his children, Nancy Altman and her husband Gilbert of Salina, Elaine Hageman and her husband Dean of San Antonio, Texas, Jarvis Paul O'Neill and his wife Gina of Honolulu, Hawaii, Joe O'Neill and his wife Elizabeth of Lamar, Colorado, Penny Peters and her husband Jim of Delphos, and Marie Branda and her husband Kenneth of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 P.M., Friday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis with the Rev. Helen Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery, Barnard. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Barnard Community Building.
