Janet Kae (Schrum) Gowin was born June 20, 1943 in Clay County, Kansas, the daughter of Ray William Schrum and Ethel Annette (Rupp) Schrum. She grew up in Clay County and then moved to Minneapolis with her parents in 1960.
She graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1961. She worked as a cook, a Certified Nurses Aide, a Certified Medical Aide and Home Health Aide until she was disabled.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents and husbands Robert Kirkpatrick, Eldon Clark, Sr., and Ray Gowin.
She is survived by her sister Wanda Stephens of Topeka and her four children: Eldon Clark, Jr. (Amy) of Minneapolis; Jennifer Holloway (Iris) of St. George; Ted Clark (Cory) of Newton and Sheri Horbelt (Frank) of Wichita; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Janet lived in and served the town of Barnard until her untimely death on Fri., Jan. 2, 2009 at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. She was 65 years old. She will be sorely missed.
