James L. Long, 74, Bennington, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Salina Regional Health Center.  Jim was born August 10, 1945 in Topeka to Lafayette and Ethel (Morgan) Long.

Jim and Saundra Welch were united in marriage on June 13, 1964.  He worked as a machinist for Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years.  Jim was also a longtime attendee of the United Church of Bennington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; and half-brother, Robert Lester.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Saundra; sons, Gary (Catherine) and Greg; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 18 at the United Church of Bennington.  Memorials may be made to the church.
