Obituary

Henrietta R. Weiland, 87, Minneapolis (formerly of Bennington) passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. She was born March 9, 1923 in Troy, Kansas to Owens and Bertha (Sentz) Jenkins.
Henrietta and Charles "Bud" Weiland were united in marriage on April 19, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kansas. She and Bud were the owners and operators of the Twin Valley Station and Café for many years. Henrietta then worked at the Bennington State Bank for numerous years before her retirement. She was also a former mayor of Bennington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud on August 5, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her son, William "Bill" Weiland; her sister, Elaine Stone; and great-grandchild, Curtis Weiland.
Survivors include her sons, Gary Weiland and his wife Patti of Ness City and Don Weiland and his wife Connie of Bennington; her daughter-in-law, Sue Weiland of Minneapolis; grandchildren Jeremy Weiland, Jamie Palenske, Meredith Gleason, Grant Weiland, Rene Ramsey, and Jeff Weiland; two step-grandchildren, Eric and Justin Barnett; great-grandchildren, Madison Weiland, Luke Gleason, Owen Gleason, Brayden Palenske, and Chase Ramsey; and step-great-granddaughter, Brookelyn Barnett.
Graveside services will be at 2 P.M., Thursday at the Bennington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis where the family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis and may be left in care of the funeral home.
