Helen Frances (Beach) Dodge Stewart, daughter of the late Dr. Warren Beach and Alberta Frances (Hermann) Beach was born on November 11, 1916 in Concordia, Kansas, and departed this life on Sunday, October 19, 2008, in the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis, Kansas
Helen married Martin Dodge May 17, 1944, who died during the invasion of Europe in 1944. She later married William Stewart September 25, 1953 who preceded her in death in 1991.
Helen's early years were spent in the Washington DC area where she worked for the dairy association. They later moved to Florida where they owned and operated an antique shop for many years. After Bill's death, she moved back to Wichita to be near her sister Clara Jane Hawkins Burkett, who also preceded her in death. In later years she moved to the Ottawa County Hospital Assisted Living Wing.
She is survived by nieces, Marita Jane Hawkins Hendricks, Claire Frances Burkett McCellan and nephew John Warren Hawkins, and many other relatives and friends.
At Helen's request, cremation has been selected and there will not be any services. Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis is handling arrangements.
