Helen E. Crow, 101, Bennington, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Holiday Resort in Salina. She was born May 10, 1911 in Ottawa County, KS to Charles and Ethel (Erbentraut) Stewart.
Helen was a graduate of Culver High School and she was united in marriage with Francis Crow on November 29, 1933. She taught school in a one room schoolhouse in Culver for one year and later she was a salesclerk at Stiefel's and Kline's department stores in Salina. Helen was also a longtime member of the American Business Women's Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis on October 17, 1969; daughter Peggy Walker in 1984; siblings Charles, Douglas, Odell, Melvin, Mary, Wendell, Elroy, and Beatrice; granddaughter Lena Rogers; great-grandchildren Ian Marshall Owens, John Michael Walker, and Mitchell Lee Walker.
Survivors include her son Jesse Crow and his wife Linda of Bennington; five grandchildren Della Schweitzberger, Debbie Clark, Diane Dowell, Connie Puckett, and Jeffrey Crow; one step-grandchild; eight great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis where the family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Thursday at the United Church of Bennington. Burial will be in Bennington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas.
