Harvey L. Henderson, 68, Minneapolis, Kansas, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.
Harvey was born July 26, 1941 in Salina, Kansas to Robert L. and Isabelle J. (Sheely) Henderson. He was united in marriage with Carolyn Seymour on May 27, 1961 in Minneapolis. Harvey served as the Ottawa County Noxious Weed Director for many years. He also served on the Minneapolis Volunteer Fire Department. Harvey's love was his family, especially his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He also enjoyed auto racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a child, Robert LaVaughn Henderson.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the home; his children DeLisa Steinbrock and her husband Rance, Rebecca Williamson, Deana Sanchez and her husband John, and Harvey Henderson, Jr. and his wife Eva; his sister Roberta Postlethwaite; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Ottawa County or the Ottawa County Health Center Long Term Care and may be left in care of the funeral home.
