Goldie Irene Herman, 78, Minneapolis, died Monday, February 20, 2012 in Minneapolis. She was born September 6, 1933 in Salina to John Henry and Gladys (Jones) Skanks.

She loved to work in her yard and she was a homemaker.

Irene was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Toothman in 1985 and Vernon Herman in 2003; daughter Alice Cjeka in 2005; brothers Samuel and Ray Skanks; sisters Sylvia Hamrick and Alma Altman; and a grandson.

Survivors include her son Charles Toothman and his special friend Carol Ingerson; son-in-law Bill Cjeka; sisters Rose Base, Pearl Adoor, and Patty Radford; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 P.M., Wednesday at Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Friends may call from 10 AM to 12 Noon Wednesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Ottawa County.
