Gloria Arlene (Slansky) Burger, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Linden Woods Village in Kansas City, Missouri. Daughter of Thomas and Margaret Slansky, both deceased, Gloria was born on May 7, 1932 on a farm west of Stockton, Kansas. While visiting her aunt, Bessie Shriver, Gloria met Leo Burger at a Bohemian Hall dance.  They married on April 18, 1949, and lived on the family farm near Ada, Kansas until they relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 2010 to be near family.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Burger (2013), and four siblings, Betty Sell, Waunetta Shriver, Roy Slansky and Gary Slansky. Remaining family members include a sister, Toya Kasiska of Hays, Kansas; two children and their spouses, Steve and Donna Burger of Lockesburg, Arkansas, and Luetta (Burger) and Jim Flournoy of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren and their spouses, Steve Burger and Roneisa Matero of Ringold, Oklahoma, and Rebecca (Flournoy) and Matt Ainsworth of Columbia, Missouri; one great-granddaughter, Allison Burger of Hutchinson, Kansas; and a great-great-grandson, Izaak Burger of Hutchinson, Kansas.  Extended family includes Brad and Lori Barnes and their family of Harrisonville, Missouri and several nephews and nieces and their families.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Antioch Baptist Church, Ada, Kansas followed by burial in the Fairview Cemetery.  Afterwards, there will be a meal at the Ada Community Center. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Antioch Baptist Church in Ada, Kansas are suggested.
