Gary L. Copple, 62, Minneapolis, died Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. Gary was born September 17, 1956 in Concordia to Arthur E. and Elva Maxine (Alderson) Copple.

Gary and Ruth Stanley were united in marriage on October 1, 1977 in Minneapolis. He worked for the Ottawa County Highway Department for 35 years; retiring in 2014. Since retirement, Gary and Ruth were camp hosts at Glen Elder State Park. He loved to fish and would go out on the boat all day whether he caught a fish or not.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ron and Don Goddard; and sister-in-law, Vicki Copple.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth; sons, Tommy and Laura Copple and Mitchell and Jodee Copple; brothers, Roger and John Copple and his wife Kris; sister, Sharon Willard Ames; grandchildren, Cody and wife Kaydi, Tessa, Lane, Ethan, Bristol, Brantley, and Braden; two great-grandchildren on the way that granddad was very happy about; nearly 200 nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

At Gary's request, he was cremated and no formal services will be held. A gathering and luncheon with family and friends will begin at 12:00 P.M., Sunday, February 17 at Scout Hall in Markley Grove Park where Gary and Ruth were married. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glen Elder State Park and may be mailed to Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
